I connected my pedals on my hotas 4, in the settings menu I try to change the button for the dead man's handle to the right pedal but I can't do this because it doesn't recognize my right pedal. It says like you see in the screenshot (lotus listens). But I can't assign it to my right pedal.
In the settings menu of thrustmaster the pedals are recognized and working fine.
Is there a solution or not?

Okay so it will not work with the pedals, thanks for the answer. Now I understand it why I couldn't assign them.
Maybe you can use additional software for your joystick that creates a (virtual-) button push when you press the pedal. Then you could assign the deadman’s handle function to this newly created button.

I didn't find additional software so I think that my idea will not work.
But that isn't bad. I've played now almost 400 hours 
Janine Marcel Kuhnt and ViewApp, so I think you developed a very good game that will be only better and better. 
I've bought these Foot pedals someday, and use one as SIFA, and the other for Horn. Cost around 10 bucks. Maybe this is a solution for you?

There is also an similar Product with three pedals on a plate, if you want to have two pedals or more, but without having to position them one by one under your desk.
