In the photo you can see the tracks that i tried to create on a test map, but it looks different to Diorama. I am unable to figure out why that is?

The left one is our latest version - the older one (right) is maybe not available in the EA master version.

The right one uses parallax mapping for track ballast and normal-track sleepers - the left one is textured with newer photo-realistic textures und newly modeled rails.

I think he likes the dirty looks of it. At least I do.

Yeah, I personally think it looks more realistic as the parallax mapping of the ballast distributes it more evenly. The sharp transition of the edge is very visible on the latest version and the ties look so "clean" - but they do both look good in the end

No-win situation.
But I believe that we max out a bagful of tracks and rails from official quarters if the M1-processing comes up.

I personally think it looks more realistic as the parallax mapping
It includes parallax mapping, too, but in MapEditor, the materials are simplified and you cannot see it!
