The stuff mentioned in the thread is only for the internal beta, it's just meant to show progress happening instead of there being months of silence again.
As far as I understand, the idea is to release the NG versions in slightly bigger updates than was done with Classic, according to this roadmap (which is not being updated but does show the general idea of planned release version features), so it will probably be a while before the next update? I guess you can compare the "development progess" notes to the roadmap to get a rough idea of how far away it is.
