It’s not launch for me. I tried launching it both via launch options, and directly from the folder.

Just as general info: the logfile for NG is a different one, generally found under C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\LOTUS-Simulator and called simulator.log

Ok, Thanks, but there "C:\Users\SimWorld\AppData\Roaming\LOTUS-Simulator" is two files, and both is empty (

ok, that's a little bit weird... please delete them and restart lotus-NG. Are they show again?

Your CPU will not run LOTUS-NG. I have a i7-3770K and it doesn't run for me either.

I deleted those two files and launched NG, but nothing changed—both files are still empty.
*It is worth noting that the game was not installed prior to the latest update, but I reinstalled it specifically for this update—and that is exactly when the problem arose; before that the NG version had been running without issues in demo mode.

Was this problem observed before the latest update as well?

Only the old map playtest worked back then, the versions after immediately crashed on startup, leaving behind a blank log file. (So the exact same behaviour as you)

The AI "friend" says there might be issues with older graphics cards; I have a 1080 Ti, and the driver version is 582.28.
What GPU you are using ?

GTX 970 running at driver version 582.66 (the latest version supporting the card). But I can say for sure the GPU is not the culprit.
Because out of curiosity I checked Event Viewer to see if it logged anything there, and sure enough Windows silently throws an application error whenever it's trying to start simulator.exe with error code "0xc000001d". Looking up online, this code usually means "illegal instruction", and IIRC LOTUS-NG versions after the initial map playtest make use of some newer CPU instructions, which makes the CPU the main failure point in this case.
Honestly because of this I have given up hope of ever running LOTUS-NG on my 14 year old sh*tbox of a PC which is just begging to be replaced soon, unless Marcel Kuhnt finds a solution...

I’m not used to problems like this. I have a Steam account with a twenty-year history and over 700 games, and I don’t recall ever having issues launching games before.
This is definitely not just an issue for us; many Steam users are facing similar problems. I just wanted to bring this to the developers' attention, but it seems they don't have a solution for it either.

I’d like to share some good news: after the latest mini-hotfix, the game finally launched. Now I’m thinking about installing all my DLC and I hope there won’t be any issues with them either.
Thanks.
