BTW, does GT6N double traction (doppeltraktion) work? When I spawned it it was painfully slow reacting, so I assume, that the second one is unpowered...

Yes, it does. However, you have to also power the rear vehicle. For that you have to look to the left hand side, near the driving lever (dont know the correct term). There is a switch that - in the rear vehicle - is on "2" as standard. You have to put it into the middle position in order to activate the cab. Then do as normally and activate the cab (key, pantograph, main switch). Then return the switch to the "2" position. Afterwards, return to the front cab (ensure that the switch there is on the "1+2" position) and then you can drive normally.

You're doing it again. Stop concentrating on the size issue.

Estonia was (I assume) only mentioned because you seem to be from there, and as a comparison for you to be able to better understand how big the German world is. This is a huge difference in culture and economics, as Marvin pointed out. Nobody claims Estonia to be "unmeaningful" but you. Your interpretation of Marvin's comparison of facts (population) seems to be that small countries aren't meaningful?

Let's look at the facts here and try to bring the discussion back to topic:

-Many people are not able to understand German

-Many people are not able to understand English

-Many people are not comfortable with writing/speaking English/German.

-LOTUS's current userbase seems to be mostly German-speakers.

So what can be done about that?

-Translating posts into English (as already done by some)

-Maybe help translating posts for those in need

-Maybe finding workarounds to problems Woltlab causes

    Other ideas?

I think Marvin_0 has made some excellent points, which unfortunately you seem to have ignored and instead just concentrated only on the size issue.

Size does matter when it comes to languages, however, that's not the point here. The point is that English is (by far) not spoken by everyone in the German world and the LOTUS-Community.

Another point he made is that Germans like Simulation-games. And I'm sorry to work with clichés here but many of the 7 billion people on earth have other things to worry about than playing LOTUS. Also, most of the content for LOTUS currently available is German (which is why there's fewer players from abroad, which is why there's less content from abroad, and so on).

But sure, continue to ignore the facts and keep wondering (or it seems you just dont care) why again most of your community is from German speaking countries by justifying that it's only German speaking people who mostly love simulations.

Nobody is ignoring the issue at hand, however, people are explaining it. This is a key part in resolving the issue of internationalising LOTUS.

Being offended by people explaining stuff and claiming "discrimination" will, however, not help.

I think you're raising an important issue.

However, it is important to note that many people that are actively participating in this community in German only, are able to understand (especially written) English quite well, but may be too afraid to post in English because they think their English might be too bad or embarrassing.

Maybe we could open a translation-hub in the Forum, where users willing to translate (into either German or English) or proofread and users who need translation can coordinate. On reddit's r/translator I've experienced that this can indeed work quite well. Another idea would be a list of translators or maybe even a dedicated role (like Expert, etc.) who may be contacted for translations.

This could help make LOTUS more international, resulting in a bigger community and therefore more content.

I think that this will have to be sorted out by the creators of both the map and the rolling stock. E.g. in most vehicles selective door operation is simply not possible in real life. And where it is, it has to be implemented by the creator of the vehicle.

However, I think for the solution to the passenger problem you raise, we will have to be patient, as more pressing features, such as passengers themselves are yet to be implemented. As the passenger AI evolves and gets implemented, I think that we can expect those more complex "maneuvres", such as boarding the right car to be able to exit again, will also be implemented in the long run. I base that assumption on the fact that coupling and decoupling are essential for some tram networks and many railway networks, and passengers hence have to be able to board the correct part of the train.

But until the passengers are implemented, I think that it is not very sensible to discuss this topic, as LOTUS isn't that far, yet.

As far as I know, this should be possible. This is also, what LOTUS-Simulator is about. Combining a Bus-,Train-,Tram- and Plane-Simulator into one. The modules allow the plane enthusiasts, to only pay for the plane-part, if they don't want to drive a bus or a train/tram.

    EDIT: Again, too slow ?(

As soon as the content tool arrives (hopefully very soon), you can start translating LOTUS into simplified chinese. In that way, the community can provide different languages in order to reach more people.

Yes, it will, you can have an airport, a busline, a tramline, a tube/subway line and a rail line in one map. However, you can only drive those vehicles, whom you have the modules for. So, if you're on such a mixed map, and only have the "Rails" module, you can't drive the busline, nor a plane. Have I gotten it right Janine ?
