Put simply, a route is a specially secured roadway. Typically, a route includes one or more switches that need to be placed in a specific position before the route is activated, there are interfacing signalling devices to determine whether a vehicle is on the route, and there are signals that inform the driver of the state of the switches and the route. This article describes how to set up routes in the MapEditor.
