Unable to add controller axis

  • I have two controllers connected but when I attempt to add an axis it will not allow either to create an axis and there are none in the list. I can tell they are connected and functioning as some buttons operate the pre-assigned functions, the bells work and door buttons work. I have had the same thing with TramSim that it will no longer recognise an axis and can only operate it as a binary function, I asked about this on Steam and got a response of that's the way it is now and the devs are unable to re-implement them. Is this the same case here due to a Windows/PC firmware update (recently changed) or is there another way to implement an axis?
